Tis the season, to channel our inner child.
I will admit, I am not really one for all of the holiday hoopla – regardless of the holiday – but there is just something a bit magical about Christmas. Even though I don’t get all crazy in October and start pulling out the Christmas decorations and searching my radio for Christmas music, I do have a bit of a soft spot for all of the lights and trimmings; once the Christmas season finally arrives. The way everything is lit up, takes me back to my childhood and adds a little warmth and color to the home – giving it that festive feel.
With all of that said, I am not the first to turn on the Christmas movies, but I am also not a complete Grinch; I still watch them with my wife and secretly enjoy them. A universal similarity they all share, is that everything surrounding Santa – from his wardrobe to his sleigh – is very ornate and trimmed with amazing craftsmanship.
This year, as we moved on from Thanksgiving and made way for Christmas, I got to wondering if Santa carries a knife. And if he does, what would he carry? I can only imagine that he would carry something that would exemplify the enchantment and beauty of the season. Something that would match his noble style.
Although the fantasy and magic of Santa Clause are not something that we could ever truly achieve, in real life, we are fortunate to have knife makers in this world that make it possible for us to at least own the kind of cutlery that Santa would carry; if Santa carried a knife.
I can’t help but think that if Santa were to pull out a knife and cut up some sausage, to accompany his hot cocoa, it might look a little something like one of these intricate masterpieces.
